McCall's 9402; ©1968; Misses' Gay Nineties Costumes. Bathing Costume A - Authentic 1890 bathing suit is today's jumpsuit and short skirt. Sailor collared jumpsuits, middy braid trimmed, zips up front, has snap-out "modesty" bib. Middy braid trimmed overskirt gathered at side, zippered and pleated at center back. Day Costume B - Full length skirt stiffened at top with non-woven interfacing, high-collared blouse has leg o'mutton sleeves and back tucks. Two rows of self ruffles edged with optional baby rick rack flank sides of button front closing. Ruffle trims edge and one side of each cuff. Belt A or B - Middy braid trimmed contour belt completes both costumes.
