The Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) is the premier counter-terrorist unit of the UEG Department of Law Enforcement, operating under the auspices of the OPAST. HRT agents are tasked with the rescue of UEG citizens who are held by terrorist or criminal entities in domestic law-enforcement situations above the means or skills of local Tactical Assault and Response teams. HRT personnel frequently cross-train with counterparts in military service, such as Army Rangers, NAVSPECWAR operators, and Orbital Drop Shock Troops.
