Jadwiga means “children of the witch-mother” – the witch mother being Baba Yaga. They appear to be human, but originate from a far realm beyond the known planes. They are the absolute rulers of Irrisen, but sometimes oppose one another. Males are expected to lead Irrisen’s armies, whilst females govern. The current ruling family in Irrisen are the jadwiga Elvanna, the children and grandchildren of the current queen.
