"Jesus-dog" was the mental nickname given to a stray dog found in the town of Eluria by Roland Deschain. The dog's fur was a dirty white, white a patch of black fur grew on its chest in a roughly cruciform shape, causing Sister Jenna to call it "the cross-dog." The dog aided Roland and Jenna's escape from the camp of the Little Siters when it attacked and killed Sister Mary.
