Assigned to Ninth Air Force during World War II, the 367th participated in seven European Campaigns rolling up an impressive list of statistics, flying 14,175 combat sorties destroying 432 enemy aircraft, probably destroying another 28 and damaging 344. They had destroyed or badly damaged 384 locomotives, 4,672 motor vehicles and 8,288 railroad cars. The group flew its last combat mission on 6 May 1945. The unit was redesignated as the 133d Fighter Group, and allotted to the Minnesota Air National Guard on 23 May 1946.
