The original Sub-Zero was able to use this shield on his quest to recover the Amulet of Shinnok, providing temporary protection against all traps, weapons and enemies, especially the amulet's immortal and evil creator Shinnok, and the ancient society of his diabolical and fanatic worshippers, the Brotherhood of Shadows.
