The Swarm Aliens are an otherwise unnamed territorial humanoid species which controls a vast territory in the Milky Way's Delta Quadrant. They are known to be a reclusive, feared and hostile species which readily preys upon any ship which dare penetrate their territory. They are known as the Swarm primarily because of their use of relatively small vessels in great quantity, their preferred attack method consisting of approaching a larger ship with numerous vessels and draining energy directly from its hull. It is said that virtually any ship that goes into Swarm space will never be found again, and those which are found, are found with the entire crew killed.
