Estadio Victor Jara was a sports stadium in the city of Santiago, Chile on Earth. It was initially named Estadio Chile, and in 1973, was used as a prison during the military coup d'état against the Chilean government. One of the prisoners held there was a famed songwriter and poet, Victor Jara. Jara attempted to lift the spirits of his fellow prisoners with song; when he refused to stop when ordered, he was beaten and eventually executed. Estadio Chile was renamed Estadio Victor Jara in 2003 in his memory.
