In 1990, as the the nation stepped up it's comitment to the first Gulf War, ABN1 beagan airing special news reports each night around 10:30pm to wrap up the day's developments. The special program was anchord by Tom Luckman and usually lasted well into the night if live news warrented it. Prior to being called Nightline, the bulletin was titled 'ABN News: The Gulf Crisis'. During it's boradcast, the program has been awarded many times and is often a reference point for polticians durung Congress' Question Time, as they debate commments made on the program.
