The dichromena spurium is an extremely rare, small plant and can be found anywhere near rivers in Ireland. It blooms once a year, for 4 months. It has narrow, kidney-shaped leaves, which are usually emerald, giving it the common nickname 'blooming bezoar' in reference to the kidney-shaped stone. It also grows decent sized flowers, which can be light violet. These plants grow in small groups, but it's challenging to control and maintain their growth.
