A type of stone sensitive to the Force was found on the home planet of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Jinn kept one such stone as a memento, eventually passing it to his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, who in turn handed the stone to his apprentice Anakin Skywalker.
