Darth Cydal (DCX-1) was an advanced combat droid developed by the Black Sun criminal organization in an ill-fated plot to destroy the Jedi Order. By passing the droid off as a Sith Lord, it was hoped the Jedi Council could be lured into a carefully prepared trap involving the detonation of the last known remaining thought bomb. Only the efforts of the Antarian Rangers Taro Orde and Elka Starstriker prevented catastrophic disaster.
