The 1949 NBA Finals was a post season championship game concluding the 1948-49 BAA season. The Minneapolis Lakers defeated the Washington Capitols in a 4-2 series to become the champions. This was the third and last of the Basketball Association of America finals, which later that year the National Basketball League and Basketball Association of American merged to create the National Basketball Association.
