Chief Judge Floss is the aged quetzalcoatlus who is in charge of judging contestants' performances during the High Flapper Trials. In The Skies of Fear, Floss was the mentor of two lesser judges, Moss and Joss. He has chosen twelve High Flappers in his years, including Shazz, who he considers the best of all. Because he gave Flappo the Fearless (who was actually Teggs, although Floss was unaware of this) more points during the tests than Grandum, Grandum had him kidnapped and replaced with one of his mammoths. The fake Floss supported Grandum and gave him points even when he didn't deserve them. The real Floss was later rescued by Arx and revealed a more fun-loving side of his personality when he regained his power of flight.
