The Yakima River is a stream that flows from the east slopes of the Cascades near Snoqualmie Pass to the Columbia River at the Tri-Cities. Its watershed is marked by several dams and diversion structures, which feed dozens of irrigation canals throughout the Yakima river valley. Due to the extensive irrigation, the Yakima valley is one of the most productive agricultural areas in the Cascadian bioregion.
