Simpson was born in Kinley to Joseph and Deirdre Simpson. He has 2 brothers and 1 sister; Daniel, Oliver, Alexander and Lorelie. Nick attended a public school. His family moved to Ireland in 1976. He began acting in films as a child actor in 1979. He returned to Lovia in 1988 and continued acting there. He had a brief acting career in the United States where he met and married Andrea Wright. They moved to Lovia and had two kids, Gillian Wright-Simpson and Maxwell Wright-Simpson.
