The Houan are a forgotten, ancient cult of necromancers. The Houan were an ancient sect of necromancers who had the ability to raise the dead. Centuries ago, they were defeated by Raiden. Though they had scattered, the temple they used to conduct their dark rituals still existed. Raiden later used their dark sorcery to re-animate the body of Liu Kang to serve as his enforcer.
