The Tormentor device was a torture device used by the Sith Empire during the Cold War and Galactic War with the Galactic Republic. Chaskar attempted to make the Hero of Tython, his new Sith apprentice, use the device on the Jedi's former Padawan Kira Carsen, but the Hero had already broken free of the Sith Emperor's will and Force persuaded Chaskar to leave.
