In November 2553, a pioneer group arrived on Reach for an initial search and preparation for the planet's reterraforming. By 2589, Reach had been restored to a habitable state, and new human colonists were re-settling the planet. The planet was still evidently littered with destroyed ship and debris from both the Covenant and UNSC, 37 years after the fall of the planet. By 2610, most of the colony was reestablished. The population was also well over the pre fall of Reach population with an estimation of 5,86 billions humans in 2617. The hight population is explained by the constant arrival of colonist of all remaining colonies. Reach remained the most populated colony with Gliese 581 in second with just under 1 billions living humans
