Flying Under the Radar is an insult (or sometimes used as advice) relating to work ethics and personal conduct. The phrase refers to people that go unnoticed, drawing no attention to themselves, either positively or negatively. In military aviation terms, it means to fly undetected, underneath the Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR). Probably originated with the twentieth century US Military, but its use is general in the business, workplace, schools and institutions.
