Qadan was a yobanjin scholar who lived in the City of Gold. A Rokugani, by the name Mirumoto Temoru, appeared at the city and began to research ancient tomes specialized in the creation of mystical artifacts. Qadan was hired to assist him in translating the more difficult texts, and eventually they grew closer and married. They lived together in the House of Golden Flame until Temoru died.
