Alter Aeon is a custom MUD that has been running since late 1995. Alter Aeon is one of the more blind and visually impaired friendly MUDs, with aggressive server-side filtering and custom downloads from the web site. A custom client for the sighted is also available on the web site, though the game can still be played using ordinary MUD clients. The code base for the game is named 'DentinMud', after the creator 'Dentin'. The current version is listed as "DentinMud v2.05" using the in-game 'version' command.
