Normally, corpses of dead monsters will rot away quickly, or they may be too large for one person to eat. Applying a tinning kit to put the corpse in a tin can will preserve it for future consumption, or as a trophy. However, you cannot sacrifice tinned corpses. Tinning kits only have a limited number of charges, and may need to be recharged after much use. See Charging#Tinning kit for more details.
