The Badlands was a four-seater soapbox race extant in the 25th century, held on a dry track in the middle of a desertic region on Chelymun. Brianna Reiss' team placed 7th. (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "At the Soapbox Races") Mrazek disliked the race since it was held on a dry track located in a region where sandstorms were common and, as such, preferred races like the Jadefire Run. even though the Jadefire Run was held at dusk (or night, depending on the heat).
