"The Snout in the Dark" is a story fragment by Robert E. Howard written in the 1930's but not finished or published during Howard's lifetime. It was completed by L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter and published for the first time in the collection Conan of Cimmeria. The original fragment was finally published in the 2000 collection The Conan Chronicles Volume 1: The People of the Black Circle.
