The Rending Chant is part of the funeral rite known as the Rending Ceremony, performed for the Kings of Greater Andoria. The chant has elements of prayer, yet is also apparently understood in part by the kritkraws of Andoria's Valley of Sorrows, who play a key role in the ceremony.
