The DG555 features an angular Destroyer-style basswood body mated to a set-in three-piece maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with block position markers. Components include three Ibanez V2 humbucking pickups and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut. For 1987 the DG555 got the Back Stop tremolo stop. The combination of the Edge tremolo, Back Stop and Top-Lok III nut were marketed as the Sure Bet Tuning System. The DG555 was discontinued after 1987.
