The River Ashaba is one of two main rivers in Cormanthor (the other being the Duathamper, or Elvenflow), flowing from the north west of the forest realm (originating in the Desertmouth Mountains), through Shadowdale, Mistledale, Battledale, and Featherdale before draining into the Dragonreach. It is also fed by the Semberflow and the Glaemril rivers in Semberholme, joining it at the Pool of Yeven.
