Marshy boglands were situated between Rivers Gladden and Anduin. In T.A. 2, High-king Isildur met his doom at the hands of a marauding Orc party here, losing Sauron's One Ring and his own life. Fifteen hundred years later, a small colony of Stoor Hobbits still made its home on the Anduin banks, hiding their homes in the long grass, also between T.A. 1944 and 1977 the Éothéod had made their home in and near the Gladdenfields.
