A soul-carrier is a Shanir with the ability to carry the soul of an other Kencyr. Although this action means that the Kencyr who surrendered their soul is now very hard to kill the primary reason to entrust one's soul to another is to protect one's honor, in story a soulless Kencyr who commits dishonorable acts will die when their soul is returned. Needless to say entrusting one's soul is considered to be the most intimate acts of trust in the Kencyrath.
