The Sister in the female ward was one of the medical staff who looked after the residents who were admitted to hospital following the coach crash on the way back from the Lake District in November 1969. When Ena Sharples got out of bed to investigate a curtained-off area in the ward, the sister admitted that Minnie Caldwell was behind it but warned Ena that her friend was very poorly.
