Cressia is a Barony to the west of New Canaan, and so presumably forms part of the Downland Baronies over The Shavéd Mountains. The seat of government in Cressia is Indrie. They had long been a part of The Affiliation and allies to the Gunslingers. However they were overrun by forces loyal to Farson during Roland's youth and thus it became a very dangerous land. Parts of Cressia were always dangerous though as to the north-west of Indrie Barbarians called the Troitans lived. It is known that they populated this area at least since the time of Arthur Eld.
