Secret Files and Origins are special issues published as companion pieces to regular volumes, events, or even concepts. They include additional background information to their subject matter in the form of several new stories by various creative teams, and usually include a number of character profiles giving short histories and official statistics. They also frequently include stories meant as previews to events yet to come.
