The sword itself has a psychic link established with Ryūken and it obeys his command to mentally return to him and could only be wielded by him. It could destroy towers with ease and would return to its owner when thrown. The sword as a psychonic emitter device that has established a mental link with Ryūken which allows him to mentally command his sword to return to him after he uses it as a projectile (i.e, by throwing at his opponent). This only works because, the device has same frequency as his enhanced brain waves which is impossible for others to have.
