As well as being a cargo pilot, Jyot’s father was a professional gambler (that’s where Jyot learned his skills with the cards and the ladies) and so Jyot travelled around the galaxy quite a bit during his younger years. When he was 19, he enrolled in the CorSec Academy to train as a computer and engineering specialist, but failed out after the second year (too distracted with leisure activities). Eventually got a job as a hanger deckhand at a CEC orbital docking platform, but later transferred to an affiliate company in Cloud City on Bespin, and that’s where he heard that the Scimitar was looking for crew when she was passing through.
