Smerc was a skinny newt living near a swamp in Mossflower Woods who played the reed flute. In exchange for food, Smerc guided Sunflash the Mace halfway through the swamp, until he brought him to a group of awaiting reptiles. Angered at being betrayed, Sunflash knocked out Smerc with a flask. Later, Skarlath put him in a tree, next to the eel leader.
