Its diet consisted of large mammals and birds who entered or came to the edge of the water in search of food or drink. After grabbing its prey in its long, powerful snout, the marsh dragon drowned the victim and then tore the flacid body apart with twisting bites. This involved spinning its entire body, but the beast was exceptionally agile when it was in the water.
