When technology invaded industry with a rush during the Industrial Era, few things were off the table. It was natural to start replacing the long-tried and true animal- and plant-based materials in everyday life with synthetics, which were cheaper, more abundand, and didn't need to be hunted or collected in that pesky nature. Still, most of these material need natural ones as blueprints. Thus, Camps become increasingly valuable for commerce as sources of such blueprints. Also, synthetic materials allow the development of another new flying device - the Helicopter.
