An Encyclopedia of Spirits, Sprites and Fairies is a muggle book that includes descriptions and illustrations of various magical creatures. Alexandra Quick owned a copy, and learned about naiads and redcaps from the book. It does not necessarily reflect the true nature of magical creatures, as shown by the inclusion of the naiad.
