Bowie was infected with Slender-Sickness via Macy, who had escaped the Anti-Body group and had went to his house for help. Bowie eventually is holed up with Macy, Ellie, The Anti-Body, and Avery. He is killed by Ellie when he tries to talk her out of suicide, but not before attempting to kill her.
