(Norman) James Sprankling (c.1860 - 21 April 1935) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and poor law administrator. Educated at Douai Abbey and St Thomas's Seminary, Hammersmith, Sprankling was ordained as a priest in 1891. He served as curate at St George's Cathdral, Southwark and in Deptford before becoming parish priest of the new parish of Brockley in 1895. A member of the Greenwich and Lewisham Poor Law Guardians, he was elected to the Metropolitan Asylums Board, serving as vice chairman form 1913-19 and chairman from 1919-22. In 1924 he was awarded the CBE. He died in Weybridge in 1935 aged 75.
