Jaffen was a Norvalen who worked on Quarra in 2377. According to him, he left his homeworld because it was overpopulated, polluted, and had very little work. (VOY: "Workforce") The Star Trek: Voyager Companion gives this species' name an alternate spelling for this species as "Norvalian".
