"Joy to the World" is a Christmas carol about the coming of Jesus Christ and his reign over Earth. A sidewalk band is heard briefly playing the song during "I Hate Christmas" in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. Sheet music for the song was published in Christmas with the Muppets (1986). A chorus of chickens cluck the song during Disney Intermission on the 2012 release of The Muppet Christmas Carol on Blu-ray.
