Commander Amar Chowdhury was a Starfleet officer in the mid 23rd century and was the science officer of the Federation starship USS John Paul Jones. He succeeded Stol in that position and was in turn succeeded by David McKenzie. (Star Trek: Remington: Anthologies: "John Paul Jones")
