Unbent and Unbowed is a post-war non-fiction biography book written by Sidney Cochran. Released in 2553, the novel became an overnight hit with many survivors of the Human-Covenant War due to the book's usage of themes such as survival, fraternity, heroics and resilience. The book is based on war hero Phan Chinh, a Longsword pilot who crash landed during the Battle of Harvest and survived as a prisoner of war for the final two years of the Harvest Campaign, while brutally tortured by the Covenant before being rescued.
