Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) is the second largest political party in Russia after United Russia and one of the four major political parties in the nation. It is the successor of the former Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). It supports the restoration of the former Soviet Union. However it does not hold the same ideology as the CPSU. Its ideology is a mixture of old and new ideas. The party is headed by Gennady Zyuganov.
