Owl is a character in A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh books and Disney's Winnie the Pooh franchise. Owl's character is obviously based on the stereotype of the "wise old owl", though in the books, the quality of Owl's "wisdom" is sometimes questionable. Like most of the characters, he's named after his own species. Owl tends to speak using Received Pronunciation.
