Deidara was a ninja from the shinobi village of Iwagakure. There, he served as a terrorist bomber for hire, before finally defecting due to his beliefs that he could further use his art elsewhere, and that the village restricted his creativity. He later joined the S-Rank criminal organization, Akatsuki.
