Tribute fodder is an oft-used term for a monster(s) used most often as Tributes for stronger monsters, card effects, etc. Monsters that swarm the field quickly, such as recruiters or members of the "Six Samurai" archetype are good choices, as are most Token Monsters, like those of "Stray Lambs" or "Synthetic Seraphim", as well as cards that can Special Summon themselves from the hand such as "Cyber Dragon", "Jester Confit" or "Treeborn Frog".
