Vaber was a member of the first Thal taskforce sent to Spiridon to defeat the Daleks based there. Vaber was a hothead who demanded immediate action against the Daleks. He challenged the group's commander, Taron, threatening him with a gun. They were interrupted and Vaber made peace with him. Vaber wanted to attack the Daleks by dropping explosives down a shaft. Taron refused, declaring it too dangerous. This prompted Vaber to brand him a coward and the two fought. They were eventually broken apart.
